The Eddie Lang Jazz Festival is a jazz music event and a great attraction for people keen on the genre, but not only: it represents the tribute of the community of Monteroduni to its most famous “townsman”. In fact, the town in the province of Isernia was the birthplace of Eddie Lang parents (in the world Salvatore Massaro).
Eddie Lang was born in Philadelphia, in the USA, in the first years of the century, from a numerous family. His father, maker of string instruments, passed indirectly to him the partiality for music.
The figure of Salvatore Massimo – Eddie Lang symbolizes the redemption for various emigrants generations desiring more comfortable conditions of life faraway.
The Festival was born in 1990 thanks to the Eddie Lang Blue Music Association, which, since the beginning, aimed to operate in the local and regional sphere contributing through a series of initiatives able to address the attention of national and international operators of cultural tourism towards the Molise.
The Eddie Lang Jazz Festival takes place, on August, in the wonderful setting of Pignatelli Castle of Monteroduni, which has marked the town history during the years until the 19th century and is considered a perfect acoustics place by all the artists.
